I had a problem similar to yours a while back with a laptop, I would get choppiness about every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. It turned out that the cpu was bad.

I dunno this could be related to your cpu...

It could equally be related to your graphics card as well though...

I would wait for more replies before you RMA something.

You bring up a good point. Killslut what are your load temperatures on your CPU cores?

oh yeah and btw, i have to change what i said about when a guy asked if the choppiness started immediately or after a few minutes. i said immediately but it is not 'immediately choppy', it starts getting choppy immediately, and in about 10 seconds of gameplay it is really choppy.

Lol you misunderstood I think. When I quoted post# 36 I edited the pic out of the quote myself. I do that sometimes to save space. I saw the pic u posted the first time.

Anyway it sounds like a heat issue to me but I want to make sure.

Do you have a program called Riva Tuner? If not download it from here

I don't mean to offend you with my instructions below. I'm just operating under the assumption that you've never used RivaTuner so I want to be thorough.

1. open RivaTuner and click the circled button in the pic below

2. click the circled button in the pic below

3. a window will open showing 4 graphs. One of which is Core Temperature(circled).

4. Leave RivaTuner open and start COD4. Play until you experience choppiness. Once you do quit COD4 and look at the graph for Core Temperature. Mouse over the highest point and post the temp.
