It is incredibly unlikely to be the CPU - most graphics-related things are dealt with by the GPU nowadays. You'd notice problems with the CPU in other things (like Prime95 or OCCT)

so u are saying that performance problems in gaming is incredibly unlikely to be the cpu?

If we're talking modern games, then most performance issues are down to GPU. If we're not talking modern games, your CPU should eat them for breakfast (trust me, I know!). Alternative problems could be RAM/system resources, or the CPU - but if it gets through a stress test ok, then I'd say the CPU is clean and should be problem free.

Have you tryed running DXDiag, and the Direct3D test on that? Does it give the same problem? Also, have you tried re-installing DirectX?

the direct3d tests in dxdiag did not have the problem.

yes i have tried reinstalling directx and it didn't work.
