Need help with new combo!

Thread Starter
Since the AMD guys did not want to offer much help, I have turned to you Intel junkies. I need to upgrade to the next generation but am reasonably broke. I need suggestions for a reaaly cheap dual core but upgradeable mobo/cpu/ram combo. I mean as cheap as possible. I already have a 6600 gts and Power Supply. Only catch is that the combo has to be able to play CS:S without a hiccup. I will probally overclock as well. thanks.

You should get yourself a 5000+ Black Edition processor. Grab a Biostar motherboard. Get yourself some Value RAM. I would recommend either 2 x 1GB sticks or 2 x 2GB sticks. The only hiccup you'll experience is your GPU. Hope that helps and the AMD guys always give great help.

If you want to go cheaper than that, you need some eBay my friend. I know most people don't like the idea but whatever floats your boat. Find all the stuff you want on a normal site and then find it on eBay and see if you can get it cheaper.

As far as Intel goes...I'll let these guys work their magic as my Intel knowledge is squat.

what is the maximum amount that you can spend? the best budget board that OCs would be the Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L. and a good cpu that OCs well would be E2180. Newegg has the mobo for $89.99 and the Cpu is around $70 and ram is dirt cheap these days. you can pick up some Ballistix for really cheap.
