Okay so my iPod touch freezes on the little apple logo, And I have a ton of contacts on here that i have no where else and i need to back them up, Is there anyway to do it?

get a folder browser and see if you can just drag the files onto your pc

I dont know if you will be able to do it with it not switching on but give it a try

That program refuses to run on Vista.

without being able to turn it on i dont think there is much hope other than searching for a program similar that works in vista

Personally I don't know how you would go backing u something that won't boot. But if you wish to get it to work again you can hold down the home and sleep button and it will boot into restore mode from there plug it in and itunes will restore it.

But other then that I have no idea, you can always try apple customer support.

Yeah actually i found this program called "touchcopy" it takes the files of your ipod and puts them on your pc (basically backs them up). Search for it. Its a limited shareware program so i don't know the limits. pm me
