It is the fastest card on the market, pulls less power than the GX2, and can be put in wallet-emptying SLI or Tri-Sli. The card is fast and will only get faster with new driver releases. PhysX and F@H will be enabled with the new drivers, as well.

Is it revolutionary? No. Is it a decent upgrade from anything other than a GX2? Yes.

IMHO, if you have the money (and no GX2 now) go for it. If money is tight, go with SLI GTS/GTX's, or the new ATI cards.

well the conclusion is unless u play at super resolutions u aint gonna see the glory that is the GTX280 .....

im still holding a glimmer of hope for when the OCN crew pick up their cards & get some proper benching & gaming done.

the drivers will also improve i suppose & it folds like a monster !!!!!!

but at the moment i think everyone is quietly disappointed

I have to agree, if you have any GPU other than a 9800GX2 it's a worthwhile upgrade. SLI and TRI SLI is another story.

I'd get the GX2, if the 280 ends up doing better later on then step up. Since it performs pretty much the same, I don't think it's worth the 200$ price increase right now.

I was told I would need a +1000w PSU to SLI the 280's so I don't think the GX2's are THAT power hungry.

Have they been released yet?
