Looking For A New Laptop

Thread Starter
I'm sure this forum has been bombarded with threads like this lately, but most of the current ones don't have to information I'm looking for. I need to buy a laptop for college and I'm looking for one with a powerful processor, but I don't want a hulk of a computer that weighs 20 lbs. I was considering a Mac Book Pro since they're light and have some pretty solid hardware, but they're over priced.

I'm willing to spend 1,000-2,000 on it and I would use it for school, media, and some light gaming (probably WoW and Age of Empires 3). I do my heavy computer usage on my desktop so this thing doesn't have to have a giant hard drive and a god-like video card.

Suggestions?

I'd say a Mac Pro is a pretty good option if you're willing to spend that sort of money, I hear the Dell xpx M5130 is also a pretty good laptop and is also a lot cheaper

this seems like what youre looking for, no monstrous hard drive or over the top gfx card. $1800, so its in your price range. also has a 8 cell battery and weighs 6.1 lbs.

For that same price I could get a Mac Book Pro with a free iPod

I would say at that price, you would be best served to pick up a mac book pro. They're great. Good luck with your purchase.
