OC Q9450 3.72ghz need help

Thread Starter
Ok im Trying to overclock my Q9450 as far as it can go but i am having trouble Getting Passed Windows Loading Screen at anything past 3.72ghz it just freeze's and i have to do a hard restart

My Settings
3.72Ghz @ 1.39 (After Vdroop) then it drops to 1.352 under load.

FSB: 465
FSB Strap: 333
Vcore: 1.425
CPU GTL 0/2 : .63
CPU GTL 1/3 : .67
PLL: Auto
Dram: 2.02
FSB Term: Auto
NB: Auto
NB GTL: Auto
SB: 1.20
Load Line : Normal
CPU Speed Spec: Disabled

The FSB Strap 200/266/400 wont work it seems to like FSB 333 the best timings and ram speeds are stable with memtest and i know thats not my limit it will post all the way up to 3.8ghz but then windows just freezes again, any Ideas guys??

More vCore not needed - I'm at 1.29 and 1.26(load) volts for 3.86GHz at the moment. Of course my north bridge is at 1.6ish and my FSB is at 1.45.

Check those RAM timings again and up the FSB and NB volts.

I Tried NB volts from 1.49-1.53 and still no go windows just hangs During the loading screen, sometimes it will complete but then it hangs just before the vista symbol

Rams fine with 8-8-8-22 timings yes they are loose but its just for now. and do have proof of those voltages?

you might just have hit a wall with your chip then, i've seen people hit 4GHz easy with my chip but i can't boot past 3.68. that's just how it is sometimes. still a decent enough OC for a quad, even if its 45nm.

You are going to need more NB voltage then that because of the extremely high FSB (for a quad).
