Can't decide on ultra-mobile laptop.... - Page 2

I'd say MSI Wind, TZ, Or air... leaning towards TZ because I do not like the idea of the air at all, not an Apple knock, I just don't see the point of it.

Yeah I want to see the MSI wind too. Unfortunately my Mom still controls my money, so I have to get something under 1000. That leaves me with either the Eee 1000 or the MSI Wind. I'll have to see when they come out stateside.

I thought your first post said 1800-1900? Is the budget around 1000 now?

If you can deal with the higher price, you might check out Lenovo Thinkpads(X series is pretty small and light, 12" screen, great build quality)

I got an X61 recently, and I love it. With the 8-cell battery, I seem to consistently get around 6 hours of life doing web browsing, music, etc.

Hope that helps, although if you are looking for something less than 1K, Thinkpads aren't really the best solution

Edit: with the extended battery and such, I'm not sure a Thinkpad would technically be an ultraportable...IDK. Just a suggestion.

I just bought a TZ250N/B and it runs great. Swapped out eh HDD with my 32GB SSD from my UX390N and it runs even faster now. I'd choose this laptop over any. You should search around for the price...I bought mine from a pc shop near work and paid a little over 1300.

Well now that I discussed the new purchase I can invest a little more into it. So far my top choices are the Lenovo X300, Sony TX, Sony SZ, or the Asus U6. I'm still going to wait for the Eee 1000 though just to see what it brings to the table.
