That's too bad, you shouldn't of ran it so hot.

My Dad uses an old Asus A7N8X-E and Barton 2500 running at 2.4Ghz and it's been running at that for almost 4 years now 24/7 with just a Thermaltake SilentboostK7 for a cooler. Runs around 45C load.

this still doesn't explain the restarts.

If you hadn't already replaced your PSU I would have said try that for sure. I had a bad PSU randomly reboot my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and Athlon XP-M 2500+ system (PSU contacts were brown). Have you tested your overclock with Prime95 or Orthos? Does the CPU heatsink feel excessively hot to the touch? Are you getting the temperatures from the BIOS?

Off Topic: I have a funny store to tell about my A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard. I originally bought it from Newegg Summer 2004 for about $86. I sold the motherboard on eBay January 2008 for $105 (not including shipping). That board really held it's value. It actually gained value which is almost unheard of happening to old computer parts.
