Go into your BIOS and disable automatic fan control

Set them all to about 75% since you seem not to like it on full blast

the antic 900 fans are pretty loud IMO.

it pretty makes my aftermarket silent fans a waste of money.

i'll probably just spend the extra $45 for 3 new 120mm fans. i dont know about the 200mm...

Try cutting the metal fan grills, that should make them a whole lot more tolerable without spending any money.

(For a demonsatration, check my sigged 'water-like temps' thread and scroll down a bit)

My rig is by no mean silent, but it is within a range which I can tolerate.

I would like it to be quieter, but that can only accomplished with getting some new equipment which I just do not feel is worth the investment at this time.

Once i got a new PSU that was much quieter I realized how amazing silent computing can be.

Then I overclocked

I use a delta 80mm as an exhaust and its about 80CFM..its pretty loud but I don't really care.

I prefer if I can't hear anything coming from my computer. My loudest fan is the stock cooler on my 3870. It only spins up while gaming. The rest of the time I hear a modest hum from my 1600RPM Scythe Slipstream running across my radiator. It's still too loud IMO.

My quest for silence comes from challenge of hitting the noise floor of my environment. I like to be able to sit in silence. Not many people enjoy an environment where the loudest thing can be a dog breathing 10 feet away but for me it is bliss.

When I lived in the dorms it was quite high ~40db and that was very easy to hit. Now that i've gotten use to not hearing my computer and am out of the dorms i've got to drop it down to 30 or so.

also my desktop is used for watching movies so trying to make my environment as controlled as possible is a must. I got the siletxtreme because it was suppose to be quiet. but now i regret it and want a seasonic. If only they made a decent sized psu that was able to be passively cooled. i'd be all over it. IFX-14, passive psu, passive gpu, and a 200mm fan pulling air through the case. that would be sweet
