780i Pencil mod question.

Ok i'm not sure if this is behaving like it should or not.

Before the Pencil Mod

In Bios = 1.45625 V , In windows = 1.416 V, In windows 100% load = 1.384 V

After the Pencil Mod

In Bios = 1.45625 V, In windows = 1.448 V, In windows 100% load = 1.456 V

My question is; Is it normal for the volatage to raise when under 100% load??

any idea?

Mine usually goes down a touch. I don't think it's an issue as long as you don't have the vcore too high.

Actually, you want to be equal to or just slightly less, thats too much stress on the circuit and you will have a higher voltage than you need meaning youre going to create more unnecessary heat.

Mine does this too. 1.475v in Bios 1.464v in CPUz, 1.472V under full load. How many passes did you make with the pencil? I did three on mine.

Too much graphite. Best to rub it off, and try again. I actually used a multimeter to test the resistance.

I used the 200Kohm setting (I believe), and before the mod, it read 96.1. After my first attempt, it read as 14, which I thought was too low. I erased, and the next attempt was 34, which had no drop on load. I took it a bit further down, to 26, and still no drop or increase on load, and I left it there.

Basically, main point is: make sure to use a multimeter!
