Need help piecing together an AMD rig

Thread Starter
I'm getting 2x2 GB of RAM for my sig rig and vista 64, and want to move my current RAM to a backup/server rig on the cheap!! I just need a mobo and CPU, and I figure AMD is the way to go on this, but I'm clueless where to start. I don't need all of the bells and whistles, and I don't plan to OC but the option would be nice.

All I really need is 4 SATA ports, 3 PCI slots, and firewire would be nice but not totally necessary (then I would only need 2 PCI slots). I'd like to keep this around $100 to possibly $150 IF the price difference is worth it.

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131273

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103194

That CPU is easy to OC but it doesn't come with a heatsink. And you just missed the deal they had a couple days ago but it's still a decent price. I was gonna build an AMD rig with mine but I decided to put it on eBay.

The Asus board: nop (no firewire and only 2 PCI slots). That Gigabyte board looks nice. Here's an ATX format version of it:

Has onboard video also.

CPU is overkill imo. Any half decent X2 will do:
