For a first WC KIT

Thread Starter
What would be the best way to get a nice kit to get started
Like just cooling off my CPU to get the basics, and then being able to upgrade to the GPU ?

Any ideas =)?

I'm pretty sure http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835108076 is a pretty good kit. It seems to have a good pump and a good waterblock from what I know.

It's an alright kit. I'm glad you didn't link thermaltake, cooler master, koolance, or something like that.

Swiftech or Petra's Tech Shop kits are good (the only anyone would recommend).

What is your budget for your CPU cooling.

buddy im going to have to say to NOT GO WITH A WC KIT!!!!!! get a custom one for yourself. they are fun to build and also look really cool. but if you are going to go for a prebuilt kit then i will recommend the ones below:

CoolIT Systems Freezone Elite Universal CPU Cooler

CoolIT Boreas system

if you've got the money go for a phase change cooler

i would pretty much recommend the first one. i have read alot of good reviews about it, plus its not terribly expensive. but if you want the best i would go for the Boreas. it fits all cpus and PC Gamer says that it is the best one that they have looked at so far. its idle temp is 20C and 32C during their burnout test. that is chill for as far as im concerned. go ahead and look around man. I would check reviews from PC sites that review these types of things.

on the other hand if you are rich and can afford it. get a Phase change cooler. they read out at the negatives. they are for the xtreme OCers. try checking out the phase change forums here.

Look around www.petrastechshop.com they have some nice kits made from custom parts and instructions all ready to go for those who arent sure.

I started with a Swiftech H20 - Apex 220 - when I got started 3 years back with water cooling but since seeing how easy it really is to go all custom I have switched over to putting my own stuff together.....

3x120 radiator (brand is largely irrelevant; don't spend more than $100 here), Dtek Fuzion 2 waterblock, Liang DDC pump (sold under a ton of different names), 5' tubing, (fillport/reservoir) and of course some good fans.
