SpeedStep / CPUZ / ***??

Ok, so basically, I reformatted my pc, and thought, Yea, why not, I shall re-do my overclock, with less voltage.

Things started fine, im pretty happy with my BIOS and how it works.

Then I noticed, when I set speedstep to disabled and my ratio to 7x (e6300). Speedstep VANISHES!

So im like, hmm, ok. Boot my pc @ 2.94ghz. Easy mode.

CPUZ reads, 2.52ghz (420x6)
Coretemp Reads, 2.94 (420x7)
Windows Reads 2.94 (420x7)

Orthos fails like this, but I never worry, my pc is me stable, just not orthos But that also read 2.94ghz 420x7

Could it just be CPUZ being stupid?

It would appear that speedstep is still enabled :S But it disappeared in the BIOS. Its difficut to clear the CMOS as the battery is under the pci-e slot

any suggestions?

FIX :

Disable everything in the CPU config section of the BIOS.

It's either one of two things:

1) You missed a setting in your BIOS, and you should read this to see what (if anything) you missed.
2) You haven't changed the power settings in Vista, which I've also covered in that same thread.

See if that clears things up. And if Orthos fails, your computer isn't stable CPU-Z reads the current multiplier and the current FSB, while the others read either the maximum or BIOS set multiplier, and not the current active multiplier.
