Computer randomly freezes! - Page 7

An odd similarity...
The video card in a friends PC was the issue.
Due to the case design the video card would not seat fully in the slot.
I shimmed up the stand offs with a washer and everything has been fine since.

Its a long shot but do check that the video card is fully seated. Computers don't like when cards lose connection.

I think I fixed the problem. I found a bios update on Biostar's website. Well on one of their websites, they have two for some reason. It was dated on 6/20/08 but when I searched on the 28th I didn't see any new BIOS listings. Anyway I flashed it and played Crysis for an hour with no lock-ups. So I hope everything stays fine from this point because now its time to OC!

Thanks for all the help!

Yukonrye, glad it's working for you at the moment. Check out my last post. Did you have a chance to run any of the stress testing applications to see if your machine locked up?

Good luck

Whole problem sounded like an unstable OC.
