[TT]Extreme Edition Nehalem is coming - Page 2

this thing is going to be beastly

@yeababy, the die and processor itself is much larger due to the integrated memory controller it can handle 130watts

I am not up on the newer stuff coming out so here is a question:

Now that the memory controller is integrated, doesnt that mean that

A) there is now no north bridge?

B) There is alot less tweaking we can do to get speed up?

(B is based on the idea that unlinking and linking proc speed to memory speed was a tool we could use to help stabilize the system)

The other news I've heard says Intel is going with synched cores, something AMD hasn't done with Phenom. Now that probably means that Intel might have run into the same issues AMD did. The idea of being able to clock each core would have been cool though
Thats a good point i wonder if it will reduce the power used by the northbridge.

Sure seems like Intel likes AMDs way of doing things!

Still think its amazing how well Intel did only after attaining tech from AMD.

Intelerites, there wouldn't be a true 32/64 bit Intel CPU with out AMD inside
You know if this thread was about a particular AMD processor reaching a particular overclocking and someone happened to mention that a particular Intel processor was particularly faster, they get infractions and flamed for it out the door.

Now is it okay to come in here and say that, but it is not okay to do it the other way around?

QUIT NOW with the lame comments such as ''Yeah so what I can push my Q6600 to 3.7ghz'' Big whoop fellas your not special because everyone can get those clocks on that chip. Even I did and im crap at overclocking.

Guess what...we dont really care about the Intel achievments here. This is an AMD news thread.

This guy was able to push the Phenom very far...further than anyone we know of. Thats great and I applaud him.

People saying ''Well I can get 3.7 from my Intel Q6600''. Well my 15 week old daughter could do that by just hitting a few keys and me saving the BIOS for her.

No there are not single amd/intel threads but I am sick and tired of seeing these NOOB fanboys trying to trash the thread with there LAME Intel talk.

Its sad and is not constructive. I dont mind constructive posts. However please if someone even thinks '' So what I can get a Q6600 to 3.7ghz'' is constructive then please let me know so I can get a better sense of your character.
However, all double standards aside, AMD did not invent the P2P architecture and they were far from the first to use it.

What do you mean? Nehalem will have its Extreme Edition just like Core 2 before it and Pentium 4 before that.

Whether or not it will be called 'Core 3 Extreme' or something else entirely is a different thing, but in the roadmap charts it's in the 'XE' bracket just like the Core 2.

And that has any relevance to my statement in what way, none! Thats comparing apples to coconuts.

I was merely making a comparison.
Should of expected you'd get on that faster than a Cheetah on the hunt!

So to keep all the Intelerites happy I removed the post!
