Old AMD

Hey everyone,

I've got this really old computer, and I'm pretty sure the processor on it is fried. Unfortunately for me, the Motherboard is Socket A (Socket 462) compatible. I've tried looking on Newegg and Tigerdirect, but these processors are so old that they are no longer held by either company.

Can anyone recommend me a high quality store that I can buy from? I was trying Froogle, but you can never know what kind of dealers you can expect from there...

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thats a very old socket mate. Any retailer in there right mind will no longer stock these. Have you tried Ebay ?

No, not yet. That's a good suggestion, though. I try to stay away from Ebay since I get addicted way too easily. But maybe I'll browse around on there. Thanks

I'd like one a bit faster than that, but thank you very much for the offer. I'll probably be poking around on eBay for the next few days. Thanks to everyone!

i tried to find out how much my 2600+ was worth a few weeks back ( just because i thought it would be funny), but i ran into the same problem. I agree that ebay (or craigslist) would be your best bet.
I just thought that i'd mention i have an old socket A system sitting around since i built the system in my sig last week. Its a 2600+ barton (1.917Ghz). PM me if your interested.
