Should i Crossfire 2 hd4850 or 2 Hd4870. (2 hd4870 would pretty much be 2 X2's right?) would the HD4850 in cross fire have better performace then 1 Hd4870X2 or single core HD4870?

Well... the cards arent out yet but you can expect 1 4850/70x2 to have better performance than 2 of the same single gpu cards (4850/70) in crossfire using your motherboard. This is due to your mobo not have both PCI-E slots running at 16x(you will get 1 slot at 16x and 1 slot at 4x) and the mobo has the older PCI-E 1.1 spec(lower bandwidth)

2 4850's will certainly be faster than 1 4870 tho.

The only confirmed info we have for the launch is that the 4850 will be available at the launch date. No word on the 4870, tho rumor has it either ready at launch or not available till july.

The X2s will probably no show till august or later

Hope that helps.

can you Crossfire a HD4870 and a 4850? Or better yet, if the mobo supports it, a HD4870 and two HD 4850?
