E7200?

Thread Starter
I am in the market for a Core 2 Duo processor to compliment my new video card, an 8800GT. I need something for around $130, with a 1066 MHz FSB. Would an E7200 be a good deal for me? Would I be able to overclock decently with it (I don't know if my other system parts would hold it back)? It's going for $130 at NewEgg.

How would overclocking do with my current motherboard, though? It only allows up to 1066 MHz for the FSB. Would I still be able to overclock it somewhat? I'm not that knowledgeable on overclocking CPUs...

The FSB is too high, though, they're 1333 MHz, my motherboard can only accept 1066 MHz.

Can you run the E8400 at 1066 MHz? What would be the difference between that and running it at 1333 MHz? Would it be that much better than the E7200?

Yes you could but that would be silly. The difference is a faster bus speed. It does not really make a cpu better or worse, but it usually means you are getting a different multi.

The E7200 is 9.5x and the E8400 is 9X

Well, the thing is that my motherboard cannot support anything above 1066 MHz, so I'm stuck with that. What would be the difference between the E8400 @ 1066 MHz vs E7200 @ 1066 MHz?
