Need help overclocking. n00b

Hi!
Need help overclocking. I'm a real n00b, so a step by step guide would be lovely
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU, and i would like to clock it to 3.5- or 3.6Ghz. My motherboard is an Asus P5N-D, and my RAM is a Corsair Dominator TWIN2X8500C5D 2048MB. Any help?

And, one more question. Do i need a new CPU-fan? I only got the original E8400 fan, but there's an extreme airflow in my Antec Nine Hundred. Do I have to buy a new fan?

You should monitor your temps with Real Temp, but you should be able to do a mild overclock with the stock heatsink.
Blackbox.

Yeah, well it's kinda embarrasing, but I don't get the computer before 26th of July. So, it's a bit hard to post the temps

Ok...Few friendly advices...
First of all welcome, you are at the right place..You are new, and probably can`t wait for that new mashine, that will probably mean much to you. If is like that, I guess you wouldn`t like to damage it, or fry any components. No matter how easy it is to overclock these days, this process demands certain knowdlege, care, and understanding.
I read a lot of guides and articles about it, so I would suggest you do the same. I see you are going for Intel one, so these articles, written by our members, are very usefull:

http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...l-threads.html

It is better to learn on other peoples expiriences and mistakes, rather than your own.
Also these websites have plenty of info about overclocking, hardware components, etc.. I suggest you cycle them: www.tomshardware.com // www.anandtech.com // www.hardwaresecrets.com
They all have their own forums that are free for registration, and have many usefull pages and friendly members...
Regarding your direct question, about heatsink, you won`t go far with intel one. You can find some decent aftermarket heatsink, for a small price. Afterall I hope you will be going slowly and secure at the begining so you don`t need some extreme parts.
Don`t be embarassed, we were all n00bs once... hope this helped...

Download CPUz and see what the multiplier says. Most likely it's at 6X.You need to disable speedstep.EIST,C1E ect. You may have some of these.
