AMD Noob, need help

Thread Starter
If I have a motherboard with a 1000mhz HT rate, will that be compatible with a CPU with a 2000MHz HT?

I'm coming from Intel so I'm used to matching FSB

Like is this CPU

Yes it will, "1000MHz Hyper Transport (2000 MT/s)"

I thought the same thing when I first bought AMD.

If I remember right, (i've been away from this for a while, this is my first week back) HT is Dual channel , just like ram. so your 1000mhz will equal the 2000mhz of the processor. It should work just fine.
(someone correct me if I'm wrong, untill this last week i was running a old socket A rig... never had to worry about HTT)

logan, thats right. 1000mhz = 2000HTT (MT/s)
