[Project] Canon Server Case - Page 2

Sorry no updates yesterday, I was busy at work + I am building a website for a daycare. (alot of deadlines to meet)
To top that off I have a car that I have to get painted after work today. I am going to try to get the basecoat sprayed by tomorrow, but I can't make any promises.
Either way I will have this post updated with some real progress by the end of saturday.
UPS will be dropping off all the parts this morning (to complete the computer system) so I need to get this case done!

I didn't get to update yesterday, but the case is being painted this morning. I already got the front grill cut out and the final coat of primer has been sprayed.
I spent all last night putting a new desktop computer together.

This is the motherboard that will be going in the case.

2X Xeon 2.4 ghz (nothing too special). If this board lets me o/c I will see how far I can get them to go.
I guess this server board requires ECC ram. So I will have to hunt some down :/

Now I am waiting on two DD maze 4 waterblocks that I may have to convert.
I was not planning on going watercooled for this setup but the matching waterblocks were too hard to resist.

The board was dirt cheap that is why I didn't go with an agp slot. I even have a geforce 7600 sitting here lol. I will get a pci card for now and if it ends up being quick enough I will switch out the board, otherwise I will probably just fold on it or use it as a print server.

I am happy to report that the first coat was completely successful.
I did not have enough of the dark metallic paint alone, so I had to mix the dark grey with another silver that I had stocked. This gave it a light grey metallic look. I am currently letting my camera charge / taking a break / letting paint dry.
I will have updates and pics of my progress in about an hour!

Here are a couple pics of the case and front cover with their first coats of paint

Front cover with the grill cutout

case with it's first coat (not as even as I had hoped)

I just finished the second coat, and I am running dangerously low on paint.
I am going to try to get the last coat on tonight.

Man that first coat looks hazy man. I'm hoping the second coat clears it up!

That was just the primer showing through. It looks a lot better.
I am waiting for the final coat to dry then I will be clear coating it
There is only one spot toward the bottom left of the case that is a little uneven, it is a spot where the original powder coat did not sand off all the way. I would fix it but I do not have any more paint in this color, lol. You will be able to tell after I clear it, but the rest should look great.
