Should be around that
210 watts idle
298 watts load

Im gona detach my optial drive for now..
Mrzev, those numbers are from full system load not just the video card by itself. My rig at home only pulled 170-180watts total. This was during TF2, 3DMark06 and the ATITool 3D Tool.

Good luck

Yup i know... But not having the optical drive will save some power maybe enough to make it stable enough . right now i just have it laying on its side open... so reattaching it later is no problem...not to mention i have that new PSU coming in soon i need to install when it gets in.

Thanks everyone for your help +rep.

... im gona be pissed if the new PSU doesn't work...

Hopefully the new PSU fixes your problem... that thing has a ton of 12v rails, thats all I gotta say. Also now just keep your fingers crossed that nothing else got fried by the dying PSU. Let us know what happens.

Mrzev, an optical drive hardly draws anything when it's not being used. The drive normally draws more power when it's spinning up a CD/DVD.

Good luck with your new PSU
