If your PC is in the DMZ they basically have free access to your PC as you already have ports open for torrent downloads. Your PC will no longer be protected by the router's firewall. You never want to setup a De-Militarized Zone unless you absolutely
need it and know what you are doing
... You are essentially giving anyone ~65,000 different ways to get into your computer.
Look around your tracker, see if they have a preferred port, you can also tell some torrent clients what port to listen on (I'm a diehard azureus user)
And btw, i tire of saying this... but torrents are not illegal. Neither is P2P.
