No, not really. 16x PCI-E 2.0 is pointless for the time being, because we can't saturate 8x PCI-E 2.0. I've got a X38, but about the only thing that shows scaling up to 16x is Flight Sim X. However, the X38 and all those lanes, creates a LOT of heat. I think two 8x PCI-E 2.0 slots will be well more than you need. it just looks bad to you because it's not "top spec."

Except that it can't overclock an E8500 past 3.6Ghz and was unstable running crossfire...other then that it's peachy
