I've heard good stuff about the 750i.
Also, the new ATI series cards come out today, and they are ~$200 and supposedly give the 9800 GTX a run for it's money.

is pretty much the greatest RAM deal in history. Buy it.

I wouldn't get a 9800GTX. Take a look at the new ATI cards- they look to be freaking AWESOME! Otherwise, the 8800GTS 512mb is pretty much the same card for $60 less.

I'd DEFINITELY get a board with an intel chipset if you're not going to do SLI. They just overclock better- With only an x8 multi on the Q9450, you'll need every bit of fsb you can beg/steal/extort/bribe/plead/coax out of your motherboard. I'd still go with that chip, though. It's great. Otherwise go with the Q6700- they're solid as well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136046 is a great choice.

good luck!

eVGA - rocks
ATI can easily "touch" them. A pair of 4850's in crossfire beats the gtx 280 in many games for over $200 less for the pair of them.

The 4870 will most likely beat the gtx260 and do it at $300.

I would go for a intel board, either a x48 or p45. Intel chipsets are much better for overclocking. The new ati cards will be out very soon, so if you can hold out id get one of them.

I have heard good things about both the 780 and 750--just pick one and I'm sure you'll be happy. One thing though, search through the reviews to see if your ram works well with the mobo. The reviews aren't rock solid, but they usually can give you a good idea of what ram works best with the board.

Some of the people above also stated it might be best to wait for the new GPUs...to be honest...if you want the comp now, just buy it. And heck, if you go w/EVGA you can use the upgrade program if you want the new series anyways. Waiting for it wouldn't be a bad idea because it's very close (actually...I thought they were already out)...but there is always something better around the bend. Sometimes, setteling is best.

-BTW, great decisions on a first build.

EDIT: And it looks like you haven't chosen any ram yet. Just search through the reviews really quick and you should find a decent set of ram. Posting here to check em wouldn't be a bad idea as well, haha.
