That's good to know.

Anytime. I thought it would be but I always like to point it out as I see many people rush into things and then realise they cannot power the thing in the first place lol.

Well, the 4850 has arrived to shops in Estonia too, but only the Gigabyte version is available at the moment. The weird thing is that it's cheaper than the 3870 and it supports 7.1 audio instead of 5.1 .

I am thinking of going with the 4850 instead. More bang for less buck, how could I go wrong?

So, I need your opinion on how good Gigabyte is as a brand?

Well, I (along with a lot of other people on here), am pretty happy with their mobos. Hopefully someone else can chime in about their video cards, but I think their video card would be fine.

I've got the VisionTek 3870 running HDMI to my TV. The sound (from the ATI) and video (running desktop and games at 1080p) are great! If you end up getting one, be sure to set your sound outputs as the ATI card in your OS settings I forgot to do this when I hooked it up and couldn't figure out why no sound came through

I see that you didn't read the manual thoroughly enough
Was looking for information about the 4850 and it stated clearly in its manual to check those settings.

Thanks for your input

I didn't realize the 3870 had audio, but cool!
Visiontek is the only ATI company that has a lifetime warranty I believe, try them . I've also heard good things about saphire.
Bet you it is.
