Show the GTX 280 Some Appreciation!!! - Page 8

Thread Starter
First of all, i'd like to thank everyone for the 7 pages worth of replies..

I'd also like to further thank Jonjo and Litlratt +Rep (y)

I think Everybody here knows that the GTX 280 is a better card for a couple reason..

First being that its smoother because of all the problems associated with Sli on one card..

The second being the features.. which nobody has seen to aknowledge.. the physics processing.. AI processing etc etc..

I think everybody is freaking out over the price... but has yet to aknowledge the innevetable truth that the price will... come... down... the bastard thing just came out.. i mean how much was the 8800 ULTRA... or any of Nvidias flagship products for that matter.. how much was the GX2 when that came out..? i recall approximately 500 pounds, which is 1000 dollars.. but lets say 800 dollars.. so whats 469 pounds/700 dollars??? for something that literally.. Just came out..

IMO the GTx280 is a pretty good card, and people who even consider naming the GX2's are .... whatever just say that we ignore Dualcards for now since we know a GTX280 Sli will kill the GX2. 280GTX is a good step.

I ordered the card also, except I ordered the EVGA FTW model, neweg kept me on Step 1 until it was changed to "Out of Stock", I guess they ran out and couldn't change the item listing before the cards ran out, just thought it'd be cool the have a FTW card with a FTW motherboard, if the order doesn't run through by tomorrow, I'm changing it to a stock EVGA

I guess you could build a real cooling system for your pc, like the ones those scientists trying to reach absolute zero use, you would own in any temp fight then
guy1: my cpu runs at 47C on air
guy2: oh yeah, i got it to 22C on water
guy3: heh u all suck i got to -89C on phase change
litlratt: wow, my cpu would melt at your temps, since I run at 0.000000000000001 K (-272.99999999999 C)
that's what I'd do

the GTX280 will be a big card, you need like tri-sli 9600gt to match a GTX280
anyways games don't use multi-gpu cards very efficiently
