Possible Vista Driver Issue

Thread Starter
I just wanted to put this out there for people to read

I just removed my drivers from my system, because i was going to try to downgrade them to fix a problem as per the thread here. the interesting thing to note in all this, is what happened after i removed the drivers.

After you remove drivers it asks you to reboot. i did so, and upon reboot the system fired up with the correct resolution and everything. i thought maybe the drivers had not been removed. to confirm, i went to the Nvidia website and used their driver detection tool, sure enough, drivers for the card were installed, version 163.15(or something).

common law in computers holds that drivers must be completely removed in order to insure a wonderful driver installation. could this be wrecking havoc on video drivers on Vista systems?

Common law (and common sense) also dictated not so long ago that the world was flat... I am too lazy to fist uninstall drivers before installing new ones (especially gfx drivers) and contrary to popular believe my computer didn't explode... plus what was the rule for XP might not be the case for Vista...
