Awesome for AMD!
GPU processing wouldve been a lot faster even..
And/or using quad XEONS would too.

At least they are putting it to a good use. I hope this helps solve some problems with what I fell SHOULD BE nuclear waste.

what are you talking about, they are using processors (as accelerators in this case for the opterons) that are basically cousins of the cell processor (PS3). they use these accelerators, since the cell processor is much faster at dissecting x86/x64 bit data and/or code, so that speeds up the data rate between all the opterons and cell-like processors used in this super computer. GPU power has nothing to do with it.....

20,000 9800GX2s though would be quite expensive, and probably alot more power hungry, and...well..kinda hard to run tbh. need one big ass mobo

thats a joke btw...

Xeons? No it wouldnt, because XEONS have no way to communicate with the Cell processor; unlike the Opterons.

Oh for sure we do. Even though all of the big nations who do have nukes and has agreed not to use them for humanity's sake, everyone keeps stockpiles, just in case... That and we produced so many nuclear devices that so many are left over from the Cold War days.
