Seriously... did anyone read the article? Really? The author says that they won't replace each other....

The answer to the question is "NO!" as stated in the article.

MMX is associated with an instruction set, so my actual point still stands.

The MMX extension to x86 was expanded and improved by the SSE extensions, but any modern CPU can still run MMX code. The instruction set with which MMX is associated is the x86 ISA

Wow, but to answer your question, I think you're thinking of cooter (spelling?) and CUDA sounds like a hick way of saying cooter.

P.S. I can't believe I replied to that post.

You know, most people would see the benchmarks, and, lol ,they would say "GPU rules, CPUs are dead".

CUDA does NOT replace CPU, the only reason why is because it CAN'T, and it's hardly to believe it will ever do this. One of the reasons - x86 & AMD64/Intel64 are the most popular PC architectures, GPUs cannot support most of the instructions in these sets, just it's not in the GPU's nature to support them.
as you said^^

what is implied here?

And since we’re on the subject of little disadvantages: If you want to use several GPUs for a CUDA application, you’ll have to disable SLI mode first, or only a single GPU will be visible to CUDA.
is it that cuda will only work with sli disabled or that if you want to use all your gpus for cuda they must be disabled from sli?

CUDA can make use of multiple GPUs but if SLI is enabled it will only recognize one. To use multiple GPUs for CUDA apps SLI must be disabled.
