For the unaware, Warren Spector is the creator of such games as Ultima Underworld, System Shock, Thief, and Deus Ex.

Good. We need longer games now that graphics have made a jump in quality...

I cant say how disapointed i am with current game legnths, you can sit and beat them in a few hours nowadays...

The way it sounds, I think they're saying that games will be shorter.

If only 2% of the ppl finished GTA... it just means the game wasn't worth finishing in my opinion... one of the reasons I had The Witcher on pre-order was due to the fact it was rated as being one of the longer games out their and I loved every minute of it...

If I have to pay so much for a game it should be worth it...

What happened to games like Front Mission 3 for PS? I still have never beaten that game...

CoD4, amazing but too short. HL Episodes, self explanatory but they were made like that. Army of Two, ridiculously short.

the time taken to play the games will be eaten up by on-line play.. a shorter game may not be bad if it provides lots of unlock-ables for the on line counter part.. of course i miss the days of Nintendo when there really wasn't any games you could sit down and beat in a day and to me those games were tons harder too.. to be honest in the times we live in its all about marketing I'm betting we will still get games that are 100 hours it will be broken up into say 5 20 hours games that cost 60 dollars each.. as opposed to 1 100 hour game that cost 50 hours.. who knows.. everything out there is a scam to make money its all about the smoke and mirrors they use to hide that fact.. just my point of view

OH WHAT THE CRAP!?!?

C'mon now! I'm NOT a big multi-player kind of guy. I like and LOVE my single player games. Even if I get tired of them I'll put them on hold and make sure to come back to them later. In fact I beat 4 games in once day doing that actually! But still they were all worth it to beat.

I don't want to play a game soley based on graphics. I want a damn STORY! We all know these games that just sucked us in and left us wanting more when it was all over. And it's just lame to make a game 20 hours long because you couldn't come up with a more rewarding gameplay or longer-lasting story. Put some damn effort into it!

Sweet frag-titty! You want something that makes money then put something out there that DESERVES IT.

I just also wanna say that almost ALL of the multi player out there lacks any sort of story line. And that's part of the reason I don't do much of it.

I think it leaves a very thin line for developers to walk. If the game is too short then obviously it's a disappointment, but if I'm putting 3 hours a day into a game for two weeks, it's bound to get repetitive and then you just give up on it.
