The difference between 2.2ghz and 2.6ghz is negligible. You simply wont notice any difference at all in any day to day applications IMHO.
errr have you looked at his specs?he already has a cpu and is asking for a mobo for it

O/T :@waqasr:were you on the OC3D cod4 server tonight?

Yes, and my point is why invest MORE into a platform that quite frankly underperforms? I assume his AM2 rig is up and running allready correct?

Save that $50, and put another $50 each month, or every other month, or whatever towards a s775 mobo and CPU of your choice.

The only thing you cant carry over to a C2D/C2Q/Xeon system is the CPU.

Sorry guys...OT. Ill stop now.

I cant personally recommend an AM2 board for the obvious reason that I dont use/like AMD, so Ill leave that to someone else.

PS - Matman.....power supplies are one of the areas where many people try to go cheap......but what happens if/when that cheapo powersupply fries an entire rig?

Ive heard of that happening a good few times with the lower-end power supplies. IMHO you are MUCH better off purchasing a good quality used power supply as opposed to a brand new cheapo piece of junk.

1 mans opinions........

Hmm...with that GPU you are indeed bottlenecking at your CPU.

I take back my previously incorrect statement that you wont notice the difference between 2.2 and 2.6.

With your CPU so bottlenecked, I was flat out wrong.

But I still stand behind everything else I said

Err also what are your ram's default speed? If its something like 400/533mhz you'd not likely get to 2.6

I have 2 gigs of G.skill HK (800mhz stock) and a Biostar TF550SE with my X2 3600+ brisbane and its max stable is like 2702 mhz
