50 dollars max. But if theirs a soundcard that's like MUCH BETTER for a little more $$$$ I'll rather go with that.

If you can wait for a little while, the Razer sound card goes on sale on woot.com ever so often for $50.

EDIT: You already have one, nvm

Are you upgrading the Razer card?

Well, you could tell your friend to hold tight and wait for it to come around woot.com again, or just go with the Audigy SE, it's a pretty decent sound card for $25-$30 (depending on where you get it).

You might be able to pick up a Creative XFi XtremeMusic on ebay for around $50.

I highly agree with this. I have tried realtek HD a couple of times but every time this cheap little Audigy SE sounds noticeably better. If your friend is not an audiophile it may be a good choice. However yea see if you can't find an extrememusic on ebay or something for 50-60. They are excellent sound cards for the money.
