4450e Overclocking Help? - Page 3

Hey Zetec - I know this is an older thread, but are you still running this 4450e? I ended up with a Biostar TA780g M2+ Board. Was able to hit 2.8Ghz with stock HSF. Running it at 2.76Ghz stable right now on stock HSF. Wanted to see where you ended up at with your set-up so I know how far I can go with mine.

Hey guys, i'm new here.

Sorry for uping this old thread, but i have a question.

I own 4450e G2 core cpu, and i want to OC it. Now it is at 2900 mhz, with Cooler Master DK8-9ID4B-0L-GP and when i try to increase more the clock (sorry my english) the computer restarts. I use prime95 to test it, and at 2990 mhz when it comes to the third test the pc restarts.

I use Gigabyte mainboard with AMD 770, at 1.27V.

Should i change the cooler ? I try to keep the ram memory around 800-850 mhz

Well, i run it 3ghz stable already, @ 1,375V. I want to buy better cooler and try it at 3,1 or 3,2 ghz with 1,4V

Is it gonna last? What do you think ?
1.375v is fine. People run up to 1.5v on their 65nm K8s. I ran a X2 4600 (90nm) @1.55v for two years and it's still working. Keep your temp below 60c though.

Well it is below 55c when loaded at 100% with prime95, and with cheap cooler, so i'm going to buy xigmatek direct touch s963 and try 1,41V and 3.1 or 3.2 ghz

the CPU is still in warranty, and the guy that sold it to me is a friend of mine (works in the computer shop, where i bought the cpu) and he told me not to worry even if I burn it up, so....

awdrifter has it right, anything up to about 1.5v is pretty much fine for the 65nm chips, but beyond that, and I personally feel you're pushing it (although some use as much as 1.55v for daily useage).

My 4600 Brisbane has been running at 1.4v almost since the day I got it (pulling up on 8-9 months now). So you should be fine. And the s963 is a good cooler, with that, you should be able to reach your goal.

Good luck
