good mobo for amd x2 BE 5000

Thread Starter
well im trying to do a build for a friend, this is his "budget build" but i'd like to get more performance out of the build than just some normal person building it.

top notch performance is NOT key. but must be better than average.

i saw the 5000 BE has come down alot in price, but i can't seem to find a good mobo for it.

any help, i keep looking at gigabyte mobo but so many to choose from. i hate making decisions. anyways the mobo doesn't have to be gigabyte.

but it does have to:
Last LONG ( atleast 3 years)
be around $75 (the less the better)
come from the egg. since i'd like the whole package to arrive at once, unless there is an EXCEPTIONAL deal somewhere else.

thanks (incase you were confused, im just looking for a good mobo for the x2 BE 5000)

Its a bit fussy and slow in the BOOT times but the TA770+ does good.
If you want to read more on it, check the AMD/MB [SMT] sticky
http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...d-threads.html

The 5000+ BE that did about 3350 in my Crosshair seemed to only get a solid 3200 in the TA770.
Both MBs did seem to get a bit SB voltage hungry at the high end OCs so it could of been due to the TA770s slightly limited SB voltage options.

There is an mATX Gigabyte that OCs real well...

I like my TF720a, i havn't hit any limits with it yet, but then again i havn't pushed it very far yet. its just barely outside your price point, but its got free shipping, and that counts for alot.
I hit 3Ghz a few days ago w/ my 4600+ pretty easy (250x12) so i figure the BE should do alot more ( i'm still on stock cooling, i just wanted to see if it would do it). Also ECS makes what seems to be a pretty good board... the A780GM and thats a bit cheaper. KSIMP88 has one of these. right now i cant find the thread he started about it, but he seems to like it.

Just don't buy an ASUS, unless you like buying used . . .

I've heard great things about Biostar's support.

I'd have to agree.... the Biostar TA770. It's a very nice board.... I like mine.

now the T720 vs the T770... hmm

now the question comes down to. for the extra $20 do you think the 5000 BE is worth it over the x2 4600+

Yeah, I built a computer with this board for a friend and I've got to tell you it's a pretty sweet board for the price. Plus it OC's well.

be unlocked multi, 4600 locked multi. be no hsf, 4600 has hsf
