Well I'm in Phoenix and I normally live in San Diego. A part of my linksys pci wireless card broke off(the part where the antenna screws in) and it doesn't wanna stay in. So I went to fry's and got an airlink wireless card. It was only 7 bucks. How good is this card? I'm gonna look for the receipt at home. So I'll exchange when I get home. If this card is worth keeping, I won't return it. So how reliable is airlink?
I use them on a lot of builds. They have not failed on any of the machines yet, so I would keep it if I where you. I was just at frys and got 2 of them to have on hand.
It would probably cost you 7$ in gas to drive there and back heh.
For the effor it would require to return the item... its always nice having a backup... as long as you dont mind the extra clutter.

Cool, it's good to see that you can get good stuff for cheap. 7 bucks is a steal for a good card. Too bad I have to trouble shoot neighboor's wireless to use it. And yes, I do have consent to use their internet, I just need to see what's going on. I snagged me some cat5 too so that I can see that their wired internet works.

Ya, I figured if it was good that it'd always be nice to have another lying around. And for the clutter, it would be like a drop in the bucket to add this.
Airlink is one of the few brands that I really like. All my stuff is Airlink now. Much cheaper than the competition, and performs just as well. They're starting to switch all their devices to Realtek chips, which I'm not all that thrilled about, but they're still my favorite brand.
I got an AWLH3028. Glad to hear that this stuff isn't just cheap crap. I might even just return the linksys for a refund, as I rarely use wireless. I can do with an extra 40 bucks in my pocket.

Good stuff. My router and card have been going strong for nearly 2 years, now.
I'm using a AWLH4130 in my computer as well as my old dell. Both have been working fine for more than 1 year. I got a Airlink router from Fry's and it stopped working after a few days.
One thing... they are CHEAP. By cheap I mean made cheaply. You can feel how flimsy they are compared to say, a Buffalo or Linksys. They get hot too... a little to hot, but as long as you keep them in an open area they work fine. My two Airlink routers have three years on them and are still going strong. Compared to the five Linksys that I burned in two years, that's exceptionally good.

I have a spare 80mm fan that I was gonna use on my unisink. I'll just point it over the wireless card too.
I used an Airlink 802.11b router and USB adaptor for 4 years (it was just Airlink then...not Airlink101). The router finally got fried in an electrical storm. It worked mostly trouble-free for all that time. It was an excellent value.
