Q6600 4ghz heat load - Page 2

Dam thats alot of vcore for 3.4ghz..But yea it all depends on the vcore really..But a Thermochill PA 120.3 or HW Labs BIX 360 should be able to handle it.

Wow guys thx for the overhelming reply!

I thought that Q6600 G0 would draw more than 200W, even if strongly cooled...
How you guys measure the wattage of the CPU?Do you have extra equipment? because I've seen programs that gives you voltage but not amperage nor wattage.

I really need to guet a quite acurate estimate of the CPU heatload @4ghz because I have many other things to cool down (including a TEC).

Also what would be your choise for dual/triple/quad watercooling radiators? I plan to do the ring using 3/8" tubing and have some copper components, so aluminium radiators are out of question.

If you happen to have knoledge on TEC, you are welcome to visit my TEC thread, your feedback will be much apreciated.

PICS coming once I've planned it all and bought components!!!

A loop that only cools the CPU will not really produce THAT much heat. Depending on how much you want to spend and how much space you have, the radiators that I recommend are:

http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcqposerab.html
http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcqposerab1.html
http://www.petrastechshop.com/hwlablicegtx2.html
http://www.petrastechshop.com/hwlablicegtx1.html
http://www.petrastechshop.com/hwlablicegtx.html

to be honest, ANY of those will do a good job cooling a quad. If you just want to cool your cpu, I'd get one of the swiftech ones.

hope this helps,
Mark

a quad needs something like a 437W TEC plate. They go well with stingers . (ira would know more!)

hahh but the spects are so ambiguous...I happen to have a Black Ice 240mm rad avaliable thought, but I don't even know how much heat can it dissipate...
Is there any place were I can find the heat dissipation (in Watts!!!) of most comercial radiators??
It's not only a matter of watercooling the CPU
It has to watercool a ~400W TEC
It has to watercool one (or possibly two!)Geforce 280GTX
It has to cool Asus Striker II Xtreme northbridge (who said ambitious? lol)

Now, I know that one electric watt in a TEC means more than one heat watt; is the relationship on CPU's similar?, for instance, a Core 2 Quad that consumes 220W of power means that it produces about 300W of heat?¿?
And what about the relationship on the graphic cards?¿?

I plan to use Termaltake Kandalf LCS, and want to get an estimate of how many heat watts will I have to dissipate....

EDIT:notice that this machine will be my ultimate desperate attempt to play Very high settings Crysis at a decent framerate lol

Anything over a 300W TEC (excluding GPU's, NB, etc) is going to need a 4 x 120mm radiator at least. TEC's generate an insane amount of heat
