The only downside to ATI is their drivers are terrible
are u kidding? ATI's drivers are amazing, as long as you install them correctly.
My friend has a pair of 8800GTS 512MB and whenever his video drivers crashes, he gets a BSOD or has to restart windows. Whenever my video drivers crash, ATI's handy "VPU Recover" resets the drivers instead of having to reboot. It's NOT ati's drivers that are bad, it's the software that controls it... "Catalyst Control Center." Even then, it's still great if u ask me. Very easy to use GUI and lots more.

i heard ya, i RMA'ed a 7600GS a few times. The fan failed like 2 times and a cap blew up another time.
