64 bit XP slower???????? - Page 5

I'm rocking xp64, and to be honest, the driver support isn't bad at all. Pretty much everything that has vista64 support also has XP64 support (with the notable exception of iTunes for some reason- Their retarded installer won't let you install the 64bit version on xp, and the 32bit version won't burn cds)

Markatto, installing iTunes is complicated, but possible. I did it on a x64 bit OS, it just took a while and you had to do some complicated stuff. If I can remember how I'll write a guide about it today. I am going to see what I remember.

I can't comment on XP x64, but I've upgraded to x64 vista yesterday, and I must say I haven't had any real problems.
My Canoscan Lide 35 didn't have any official drivers - No real problem just experimented with Canons other x64 drivers and found that the lide-60 drivers work perfectly.
The only other problem I have had so far concerns 64-bit IE, for some reason when an URL is called from a VBS script it opens in IE-64-bit not 32-bit. I got round this by defining the IE path in the VBS script.
It doesn't 'seem' faster but 64-bit is definately the way of the future.

I just downgraded from XP x64 to Vista 64 because I will need it for CFX. So far, it has broken support for ATITool, and breaks support for my USB mouse polling rate changer due to driver signing, and it does not work with my paid copy of diskeeper 2007. So far, no positives over XP x64.
