Don't count on it. EVGA keeps the prices high on their website, and right now, even though their stock 9800GTX goes for about $270 at retailers they sell it for $350.

Even the 8800GT still sells for over $200 on their website.

But it is a 55nm not 65nm, so it is a bit different.

Kinda lame. I see this bothering all other 9800GTX owners.

edit: Also, it is lame that nvidia won't max the perofrmance on a product unless they have to. Why couldn't they have done this with the original GTX? Nice too see that they are only trying to be a hair better than the competition instead of coming out with the best product they can.

They can pretty much sell whatever they want at the prices they want as long as people keep on buying. Sad, but true.

Because these clocks might not have been possible on the 65nm process.

Though it would be nice for a company to do a little core voltage tweaking for much much higher clocks.

IE instead of 1.05 for the 8800GT, maybe 1.15 or 1.2 (quite possible to cool with any aftermarket cooler.)

Because there will be another 9800gtx card which will be named 9800 ultra.
