It's core speed is identical to the 9800GTX+ The only thing that the other card has on it is lower power usage and lower heat out put.

this is really not a big deal to drop the 9800gtx to $200. it is basically the exact same card as an 8800gts g92 which can be had for $165 at this point. This is just a desperate attempt to keep at least some of their market share in the $200 price range

9800 GTX is not just and overclocked 8800 GTS. Yes they have much in common, but 9800 GTX can clock higher, have better cooling, have 0.8ns memory (8800 GTS have 1.0ns) and thus higher memory bandwidth, not a huge difference tho. In my estimation 9800 GTX is pretty much worth it.

Nvidia would not be taking so much crap from the consumers right now if they had stuck to standard naming conventions. You don't keep the same name for one card when you change cores (G80 -> G92), and then expect everybody to buy a card with a "+" on the end of it when you shrink the die and overclock it.

Yes, but with the GTX+ costing about $220ish I don't think they'll have a choice but to lower the 9800gtx or lose sales.
