9800GTX Sli or GTX 280 non-sli

Thread Starter
I am getting close to making the rig in my sig and now that the 200 series is out is it better performance wise to run just one card (since the price at Micro Center is the same for 1 gtx280 as it is for 2 9800GTXs). Also can someone link me to a good review of the 280.

Thanks in advance.

If you are considering the 9800GTX you might want to wait a couple weeks, price is going to drop to $199 for vanilla version and $229 for the new 9800GTX+ !!

wait... what is the difference between normal and +?

and I was thinking about getting a 280 in the future anyway and selling my 9800GTX... would I be better off just getting a second 9800?

If you're going for just one GTX 280, then forget about the SLI board and get a stable P45. They overclock way better and more stable and run much cooler.

I think I've read about 15 reviews on these cards, but different sites have different strengths.

What games are most important to you, and at what resolution will you be playing? Also, is gaming with AA turned on important to you?

Also, for a 22" monitor, do you really need SLI? I guess you could max out almost everything out there with SLI 9800GTX's at 1680x1024.
