[bitTech] Nvidia has 55nm 9800GTX+ - Page 5

Ya True, much better warranty's with Nvidia.. very true.
and not only will the 9800 + use a bit less power like Paul said, but it's going to use less power while being very similar on performance or better, while running with a Much Cooler temp.. I've been reading some horror stories about the 4850's temps.. like 80C IDLE.. that is no good in my book, although soon the HIS, and Diamond and others will make ones with better coolers, but for now. thats way to hot for my comfort. and the 9800GTX+ will be running more efficient and much cooler.

9800GTX+ FTW!!!!

People also have to remember that you get a more comprehensive warranty with Nvidia products then you do with ATI ones.
So true, one of the main reasons I wanted to opt for even a 9800GTX (non +) over the 4850. But getting a brand new 4850 for $140 was just too hard to pass on

If they were equal price, I would probably head for Nvidia just because of XFX/EVGA/BFG. They need to start making ATI cards!

You should have kept reading that it was due to the fans being run at 10-20%. Now that there is a simple fix to it (just a CCC profile), cards are idling at 40-50c (mine is 45c at 45% and about 80f in my room).

This looks like a good product but I don't think it will save Nvidia. DDR5 is the trump card and finally AMD is holding it.

Sold the GT in my rig right as I bought my 4850 (got it from Ebay that Live.com Cashback bonus and 10% Paypal coupon ).

My 8800GTS 320 was sold long ago (when I got my 8800GT).

Ya ATI might hold the trump card or whatever.. but only in certain area's.. Nvidia still holds it in others.. basically it's what ever you need your card for.. you should choose based on that.. as some people don't game. and ATI's would be great for them.

and ya I meant the 8800GT.. in your current Sig is says Bye.. you sold your entire Rig huh.. Thats cool. I still have my spare rig and I need to sell it. not sure where tho. It's a HP a6009n AMD Dual Core 3800+ 2.0GHz with 250GB HD and 1GB RAM. I changed it to the Dual Core 5400+ 2.8GHz and added 2GB RAM.. and it's sitting in my closet with nothing to do.. sadness. How'd you sell ur system?
