It was really simple & you might just be making a simple mistake.. Let me see if I can sum this up for better understanding purposes.

Download the v177.41 Vista 64bit Drivers

Extract the drivers to a folder of your choice. Maybe to your Desktop for easy retrieval.

Download the Modified .inf file for the v177.41 Vista 64bit OS for your 8800 VGA.

Extract the .inf file into the same folder you extracted the original drivers into overwriting the existing one.

Go to Add/Remove Programs from within Control Panel. Locate the "NVidia Drivers" and uninstall them.

Reboot.

Now, open the containing folder that has the driver package with the modified .inf file and locate 'Setup.exe' and launch it to begin the installation process.

Reboot.

At this point, you can use RivaTuner to OC your card, but you might want to skip this step just to get the thing working, then come back to tweak.

Download the latest GPU Client and install

Like I mentioned previously, during installation, I set the machine ID to #3 because I had a conflict with running two SMP instances.

At this point, I'd shut down all instances & reboot your PC, then get them running one at a time (if you are using dual SMP clients that is).

I really hope I'm not being redundant here XFreeRollerX, I'm just trying to help ya!

As a side note, I'm not much of a gamer, so I do not know the effects it will have upon playing your favorite games.

I have the 177.35 drivers... and the modded inf's here on the forum somewhere

Works all fine for me, both on Windows XP 32-bit and Vista 64-bit. When my next card comes, I'll have to set it up in Vista 32-bit... I am running out the number or licenses I have (3x WinXP 32-bit, 1x Vista Home Premium, 1x Vista Ultimate)

Yeah that was redundant. I know how to install drivers, I used driver sweeper between each install of drivers and ive tried 177.41 and 177.40, 175.15 and 175.19 none work for me

and I was not cpu folding at testing because it kept crashing the computer and would roll back my unit progress

great! I've been watching and seeing your struggle with the GPU2 Core. Glad you got it sorted out.

I've given up GPU folding for the time being, because the Hard Disk with windows on won't fit in my PC anymore. Lol.
