Overclocking 8800gts 640MB

Thread Starter
Hey,

I would like to know how to overclock my eVGA 8800gts 640MB graphics card.
I have looked through some threads but cant find exactly what to do.

I have downloaded rivatuner and can see where to overclock the card.
Do I just mxa out the core and then move on to the memory? Is it that simple??

cheers for any information.

You don't max out the settings... That would probably overheat the card.

Chozart probably has a link to a guide, and he'll post here in a second.

All you have to do is hit the OC button, lol.

I start out with the core and go up a few mhz at a time, then use ATI till and scan for artifacts. DO that until you reach your maximum clock. Then move on to the memory, then shaders. If you want a bit more then there are volt mods for that card, just google it. Keep an eye on temps and make sure that they do not exceed 80c (I think)

good luck and post results.

To find the place to adjust the clocks in Rivatuner, click on the little 'customize' button next to 'Forceware Detected'. Then, select 'System Settings' (the icon that looks like a video card).

You'll see sliders for all the relevant settings.

Have fun.

That will go pretty quick as the clocks go up. Heat can also cause artifacts and ruin your card. Mke sure to OC the core and shaders separately.

I have attached pics where to click on rivatuner.

ok thanks.
Do I overclock one by one till i get an artifact and then back it off. Then move onto the next one and repeat the process?

I oc by 10 or 5 then back it off by 1.5x of the OC and scan. You want to scan for atleast 10 minutes.
