Overclocking 8800gts 640MB - Page 2

I've got the same card, and will be doing the same (in fact, I have already begun). I have 2 questions:

1) Does it really matter which program you use to set the core and memory between ATI Tool and Riva Tuner? I have both, but started the process with ATI Tool since it's just more convenient. I am aware that I cannot OC the shader with ATI Tool.

2) I started by OC'ing the core. I found the max stable setting with that. From there, am I supposed to set it back to stock settings, and find the max memory setting independantly, and then attempt all maxes together? Or is it best to leave the core OC'd and then to find the max OC on the memory?

Thread Starter
I used rivatuner to overclock and scan for artifacts with ati tool.
I OCd the core, went to stock and then OC the memory.
I got 710/1035 for core/memory

what is a good time to test to see if it is stable?
