Help overclocking e7200 - Page 2

post #11 of 16
Howdy partner (gohan d1) I have issued you a friends request.

if you are willing to bump that baby to 3.16 same as a E8500 then you'll need to change this

Speedstepping (disabled)
QDR = 1333 (333FSB)
Multi = 9.5
V Core = Auto
Memory Timing stick with auto to start of with then mess around with them later when you gain more knowledge about overclocking I currently run my ram really loose 5-5-5-15 I will try running my Ram at 4-4-4-12 soon might get BSOD

and yes I do own a E7200 my highest ever clock on my low end board was 3.680 GHz @ 1.285 Vcore

Speed steping is jizz. it will lower your multi to be more power comsuming and use less power. when overclocking you need the POWER baby give it the POWER disable the Speed stepping that word is shizz around here

in english, he means Speedstep will automatically lower your multiplier and therefore your cpu speed whenever the power its not needed. It does this to save power, but is generally not recommended for overclocking. Its similaras AMD CnQ.
