How is buying a card that costs about the same, yet perform better, make someone an idiot?

This review of the 4850 shows it performs better than both the 8800GT and 8800GTS. Do you have evidence otherwise?

Are you sure? Theres only a few benchmarks that are out but it beats the 9800gtx in all of them. But yeah, i can't cancel it now because newegg says they already shipped Does anyone think they'll charge a restocking fee?

According to some reviews the HD4850 is outperforming the 9800GTX by a fair margin so I'd definitely cancel.

But now the question is what brand? I haven't been able to research the ATI brands so I have no idea what is good. Or all they all the same? I don't know. Haha stupid technology changing fast and making my life hard...

You can get 8800GTS used here in 150 and 8800GT used for 120. For 199+cooler. You can buy 2 8800GTs. From what I saw, only a few games actually favoring the ATI cards. I have both ATI and Nvidia cards<3870X2 and 9800GTX>, I would say Nvidia is still the only game in town for hardcore gamers. Don't forget Nvidia is payinig game game developers, they would optimize the game for Nvidia cards but not ATI cards.

You're kidding--right? Two HD 4850's in Crossfire was able to go hand-in-hand with the nVidia GeForce 280.(Actual benchmarks) A little heat? W00t, I think the performance in such a small card is worth it. Right now, ATI is definitely winning customer's hearts with good performance at a great price, as someone who has mainly bought nVidia-based cards (In my laptops as well), I can say my new computer is going to have two-four 4850's or 4870's in crossfire. The price is just unbelievable.

They're all pretty much the same aside from a few warranty differences in some brands (Like visiontek and it's lifetime warranty)

Crossfire is good and all but what about single GPU? Will a 4850 be a better choice than a 8800gts in every situation?

dude....do yourself a favor and stop making yourself look like an idiot by that statement. most benchmarks out are showing the 4850 being better and in general, this new ati lineup being equal to, and most cases beating the nvidia lineup and doing it while being a lot cheaper.
