But the majority are right here. The 4850 beats out the 8800GT quite convincingly and I'm sure given a few driver releases that will the difference will increase. Hell, the 4850 even beats out a 9800GTX in most benches.

Right now the only reason to buy a 260/280GTX is if you have money to burn. I personally wouldn't like to spend 600 dollars on a single card when a 400 dollars Xfire setup would beat it.

Not being a fanboy at all...just stating the obvious
not to mention that $650 that you spent on that card still can't play Crysis at acceptable frame rates when you turn on all the eye candy. No, imo, 20-30 fps is not acceptable
Intel ftw

I would rather buy a gtx 280/260 for 600(less for 260) instead of buying a new mobo + 2 gpu's (600+ easily) and completely rebuilding my pc just to go ati. That kind of defeats the price to performance ratio when you have to rebuild because ati cards aren't as good unless you have 2 of them in crossfire.

Plus I would have to spend all the time reinstalling both windows+ all the programs/games I have. Not worth it for people with one x16 pci-e slot imo.

To the person who asked whether it will let him play with 60+FPS

The human eye is unable to see a difference after around 40+FPS

Additional facts...

Movies are played @around 24 FPS - Seems pretty smooth to me

Your monitor has a refresh rate of around 60Hz, so it refreshs the image 60 times a second - it would be physically impossible for even a high speed camera to witness more than 60 frames a second

Some say that 60 FPS is the best rate to play it, however 40~ fps would be more than fine for anything

If your anything to go by, the amount of REP a person has on this forum is definatly not a sign of their intelligence

You have been miss-informed or ill-educated on the new ATI Cards - they are not attempting to challenge the high end nvidia cards, which offer top performance, but with a massive price tag

The new ATI Cards are brilliant Price / Performance cards and are far from being insignificant compared to what Nvidia offers

NEWSFLASH Not everyone who is interested in the latest technology speaks English
I can see a differance between 60 and 85, and possibly beyond that. However, that's because I have a 85hz CRT.

While movies are played at around 24 FPS, and do seem smooths. Do your games? No.

Doesn't matter how many FLOPS you can do

won't help ATI one bit with Anti Aliasing if their drivers BLOW!
